Christmas Dinner No. 2

Aka ‘The Accidental One’. A group of friends who graduated last year were back in college for ‘Christmas Formal Hall’ (£7.25 for a three course meal and bring your own wine. One of the many Cambridge peculiarities.) I wasn’t originally planning to go, since I already had a ticket for Wednesday’s meal instead, but when somone didn’t show there was a spare place. This Christmas Dinner, I greedily gobbled…

  • Minestrone soup
  • Roast turkey with roast potatoes, carrots, brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce, gravy, stuffing and pigs in blankets
  • Christmas pudding with brandy sauce (and a friend’s helping thereof)
  • Cheese and biscuits
  • Coffee and a mince pie

This large meal was accompanied by an entire bottle of wine, and followed by pool and a quiz machine in the Catz bar. From a planned quiet evening of sobriety and study, I ended up rather drunk and in bed around 3am. All this meant my Monday didn’t start till close to midday…

I don’t think I’ve ever had a traditional pudding. Jell-o pudding, but not the baked kind . Sounds nice.

If you ever get the chance, make sure you try it. Christmas Pudding is AWESOME.
