Shibboleth…

Posted by Fyse on Thursday, 6 December 2007

‘Shibboleth’ is the name of the current main installation at the Tate
Modern. A crack that runs the entire length of the huge Turbine Hall, I
thought it was kinda cool, but perhaps even more interesting was watching
everyone else reacting to it. Some people posed for a photo with it, others
walked the entire length chatting before heading off to the galleries, and
some stood so completely transfixed that they barely moved in a two second
exposure.

Incidentally, this is also my entry into the ‘Movement’ round of the
photography society’s competition. I could spout all sorts of pretentious
crap about the many levels on which I feel this photo fulfills that. But I
wont.

… and we are all glad about that :-P

Very nice photo though! Good luck in the competition.

That is very cool, what with the people who stood stock still and the those who moved. When do you find out about the contest? Do post to let us know if you are also likely to be more pretentious in 2008 because of your big win.
