Welcome, my iPhone brother! I got one about a month ago, and I never knew I could love a phone so much. I thought I had a real love with my Treo, but that was nothing, nothing I tell you. My iPhone has taught me what it is to love a phone, and according to the new standard, I barely even liked my Treo.

So anyway, Merry Christmas right back at you, and I hope your New Year is happy, too! I think that you should save yourself some time and just write a “I’m going to post more next year” post and have it self-publish every December 31. I’m pretty sure this is the third year (or so) I’ve read basically the same thing. Streamline it, baby!

Cheers. In retrospect I think I really over did the vignette. (I have a tendency to do that.)

Actually not just a remote, as mine wouldn’t work at that distance. I had a ‘voice activated remote’ instead, ie. a patient friend. I set it all up with a number of test shots, and she pressed the button on command.

(Technically perhaps not quite a self-portrait then…)

I just read a book about the 1979 Fastnet Yacht Race, so now I know a tiny bit about the Scillies. Cool picture. Accomplished with a remote control?

No, 'fraid not. I have been messing about in boats a fair bit lately though, as I've taken up SCUBA diving again this summer. This shot was taken in the Isles of Scilly earlier this month. There'll certainly be a few more from that trip coming soon...

My Dad complained how old he looked in this shot. So I told him he is old, and that this photo captures the fact accurately.
